Dr. De Freese joined the general surgery/ trauma team at Stamford Hospital in 2012. She is fellowship-trained in critical care with expertise in geriatric trauma and traumatic brain injury.

Dr. De Freese is involved in the education of surgical residents at Stamford Hospital and is the Director of Surgical Clerkship for Columbia University medical students. She provides trauma education throughout the region as an instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Trauma Operative Management.

Her book chapter, “Pulmonary Anatomy,” is included in the first and second edition of Geriatric Trauma and Critical Care.

She is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Surgeons, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and Association of Women Surgeons.
